field notes
Thoughts from Liz on homes, design, and everything that happens along the way
There’s a lot more to creating a home than choosing beautiful things.
“Field Notes” is where I share some of what I’ve learned from years of designing homes and working alongside the people who live in them—the questions worth asking, the decisions that matter, the problems we solve, and the thinking that goes into making a home feel personal.
You’ll find notes on design and renovation, stories from our projects, and a closer look at the process behind the finished spaces.
Some are practical. Some are about design. Some are simply things I’ve noticed after doing this work for a long time.
All of them come from the same place: a belief that the best homes begin with understanding how you really want to live.
If something you read here has you thinking differently about your own project, you can learn more about how we work and what it looks like to begin.
